RPG Maker and Me
The first time i was introduced to RPG Maker, was on the Playstation 2 with RPG Maker 3. I was just amazed at being able to create a game without having to spend thousands on programmers and modelers, and just focus on putting together a cool story. Once i got fully into PC gaming, i had come across RPG Maker 2000, and then shortly after 2003 was released. Those were my first real big steps into the PC game dev world what really made me love PC gaming so much more.
Once i got my hands on the later version, such as XP, then Ace, i was not so much into creation of games, as much as understanding the process that went into game dev. I was curious of how things worked and how you go about putting a story together. These amazing programs gave me a in depth look to it, and allowed me to see how some of my favorite 2D rpg games were made in a sense. This gave me a new appreciation for the games i grew up on and loved to play to this day still.

I’m slowly creating my own retro Tileset, since that is by far my favorite look for 2D rpg games. And with RPG Maker VX ACE i feel more comfortable creating tons of different variations on buildings to mess with now that it allows for multiple tilesets. Eventually i hope to finish my game, but i’m in no rush, as i just enjoy the art part of creating games in this amazing system. For any of you out there who’d like to do the same, i highly recommend you stop by and get a copy now so you can Make Your Own Game.
